Rideouts

2012 Programme

This year we are planning more long rides to prepare us for the ride to Mecca. We really hope we'll be able to accomplish this feat in 2012. We really need sponsorship if we're going to pull this off. Inshallah (God willing) we'll make it this year. In June we will riding across the Swiss Alps. The trip will last 8 days and we're sure it will be an experience to remember. Give us a shout if you'd like more details.

We're planning a national circuit of members. If you're in the UK and would like to join us, send us your details. We're still currently planning the course, but certainly areas like Birmingham, Manchester, Yorkshire, Cornwall and Telford are areas that are already on the map. So you can already see that this is going to be really interesting. We'll start from London and travel to each area. The aim will be to pick up riders along the way and engage in an amazing fundraising venture. Please keep an eye on our calendar for more details.

Of course we have to visit the awe inspiring Lake District this year. If you've never been before, you really have to join us. Keep a keen eye on our calendar for dates.

Our regular bike meets will now take place every 2 weeks. We will meet at the Ace Cafe and Beaconsfield Services on the M40 motorway. We will ride out to our local scenic routes and head back for a coffee and a chat. Even if you don't ride, you're welcome to join us for a coffee. Keep an eye out on the calendar.

Metropolitan Police Bikesafe

A must for every rider! Wow dynamic, interesting, challenging. One of the best ways to save your life. This one day course gives an essential reminder of the importance of reading the roads correctly and understanding the science of perfect cornering. We've done it twice so far and this year we're gagging for more!

Track Days and Wheelie Schools

Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Silverstone are the circuits on our register this year. Track days offer really good eye openers to what you can't do just as much as what you can do. It's the only time where you can legally put your bike through its paces, but at the same time you will realise that it is highly unlikely that you will ever be able to realise its full potential. Head down tucked under the screen on the straights, body up at the breaking point. Get the breaking right, understand your lean angle and get your knee down. straighten the bike up and twist the throttle ready for the next straight. All this and people will still be overtaking you. Amazing stuff! Attending wheelie school will also aid in understanding the balancing point of your bike as well as giving an additional adrenaline rush.
